Briefly: As was rumored earlier this week, Charlize Theron is now officially set to star in and produce the big screen adaptation of Gillian Flynn's popular novel, "Dark Places." In a press release announcing the news, it was also revealed that Exclusive Media is bringing the project to the European Film Market in Berlin to find buyers for the film, hopefully ensuring that the feature gets the proper attention to turn it into a big international release.

While this writer might still bemoan the loss of the originally-attached Amy Adams from the juicy leading role of Libby Day, Theron is a more than capable actress and should turn in another stellar performance in the film. The film will be written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner ("Sarah's Key").

Are you looking forward to seeing "Dark Places" on the big screen? Do you think Theron is a good choice?
