Dina Lohan announces she's writing book about being "the most misunderstood mom in America"

Book to be titled, hilariously, 'A Parent Trapped'

There are bad ideas, and then there are bad ideas cooked up by the Lohan family. Joining the ever-growing list of bad moves (career and otherwise) that Lindsay Lohan and her clan seem intent on completing, Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, took to Extra to share the news that she's writing her own tell-all about the trials and tribulations of life in the spotlight (or, in Dina's case, life in her daughter's spotlight).

Bing: Dina Lohan | Lindsay Lohan

Amusingly enough, Dina shares that the the book will be called "A Parent Trapped," a clever (sure?) riff on the title of one of her daughter's most-beloved films ("The Parent Trap") and continued proof of Dina's bizarrely bold coattail-riding. Lohan also shares that the book will chronicle all sorts of family drama, including her belief that she is "the most misunderstood mom in America."

Lohan also told the television show that the book will include tidbits about her relationship with Lindsay's dad (and Dina's ex), Michael Lohan, though when pressed to talk more about that on camera, she said, “I don’t really want to speak about that on camera, but I’ve been a single mom my whole life. I’ve had sole custody and my other three have had no relationship with him… Yes, I feel like I’m the victim of domestic violence for years, so if I can save a life or change a lire. I want it to be a helpful book." That's right, Dina Lohan wants to write a book that will help people. That's...nice?

Other revelations from the interview include Lohan's belief that her being a single mother made Lindsay an easier target for bad people and bad things (which will certainly raise the ire of other single mothers and single parenthood households, which currently make up about 1/3 of the nation) and her desire that Lindsay herself will have kids soon (weirdly, despite the fact that Lindsay is also unmarried). We can't wait to see what other gems she provides in "A Parent Trapped."

Head on over to Extra to see the full interview.

Misunderstood? Serious Ms. Lowhand (supposed to be funny) Everyone on the planet knows exactly what kind of excrement you are.  You aren't misunderstood, we know scum when we see it.

What is she going to tell us in a book?  Her family's story has been played out in the tabloids, social media, Internet, etc, etc. and none of it pretty.  I personally don't want to hear it again or hear how none of it was her fault. I really doubt she is writing a book to take responsibility for any of this mess.  So Dina, don't waste your time.  We are tired of hearing it.

I get the "Most Understood Mom In America" bit.  Good stars!  Does ANYone act like this, in REAL life?  Seriously?  Because...yes...I do not understand her at all!   She and Michael both took advantage of Lo's early success. corrupted the hades out of her, used her up and spit her out, and from their Prime Examples, that is the reason she is the nothing that she is now.  You get Taught to be garbage, you Become garbage...all the little shiny sprinkles mean nothing.  She doesn't respect herself because she was taught to think she was the cat's meow by her (insert anything here) parentals.  Sad.  Just...sad.

I don't know why she bothers. Dina and Lindsay are two of the biggest train wrecks in Hollywood. How does she even have the audacity to write a book about helping others? Maybe she should stop coddling her daughter and actually help her with her mental issues first. Lindsay obviously has a serious inability to grow up and be a true respectful and mature woman. They are the two biggest and saddest "victims" I have ever seen. Seriously, how self absorbed can two people be? No need to write a book. Your book is the LAST thing America needs. Plus what is that she could divulge that we don't already know? A sad tale of irresponsible parenting and selfishness is what we're in for. Is she expecting sympathy? Well woe is you. There are mothers out there who actually have stories worth telling. If Lindsay actually did something worth while besides trying to sell us on her crappy acting, then maybe just maybe things would really turn around for her. All they see are $$$ signs. They are addicts of fame and money. Neither one of you is on the cover of Elle or any other reputable magazine. Rather, you are a tabloids dream come true.

Yeah, Misunderstood, right -- This woman wouldn't know the truth if it bit her in the A - -.
and she's going to write a book, no less.  Who the heck would even publish this ?

Who would actually  spend money to read about their parenting?  I was a single mother, raised children with no drug, alcohol or legal issues.  I don't think she is misunderstood at all, the public sees her very clearly.  Remember her hissy fit over the birthday cake issue?  What a train wreck. Go away!

Bad idea from a family that seems to only know bad ideas.  Although I have to say that you yourself are wrong -way do you think it's weird that Lindsay might have kids soon -  just because Lindsay isn't married doesn't mean that she can't have kids - bad idea, but just saying doesn't make it possible.
