Stroll down Diagon Alley
Google Street View adds Harry Potter location
It makes me sad that Hogwarts doesn’t exist. I’ve thought about this more than I should as grown woman, but I’d really like to sample some butterbeer and take a class from the current Defense against the Dark Arts professor.
But that's about as likely as taming a Hungarian Horntail, Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter notwithstanding.
But all is not lost. Google doesn’t have a magic wand but it does have Google Street View and has added a virtual tour through Diagon Alley. Part of Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, Diagon Alley took three months to build and six months to trick out with 20,000 magical products.
I want to go to there.
So I did with the help of Google. The alley, being an alley, isn’t very long. But it’s fun looking in the shop windows of Ollivander’s Wands and Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment. And I didn’t realize Gringott’s anchored the alley, which, of course, makes sense since you need some wizard’s gold to buy your books and broomsticks, not to mention a few gags from Weasleys’ Wizards Wheezes. Puking Pastille, anyone?
