Even though "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is seemingly months into its production, director Bryan Singer continues to add to its already sprawling cast. The latest to join the party? According to the director's own twitter feed, it's "American Horror Story" star Evan Peters, who will be playing Quicksilver, a.k.a. Magneto's son.
Who is Quicksilver, what are his powers, and how will he fit into the story? Well, beyond being Magneto's offspring, Quicksilver is also a villain-turned-hero and erstwhile member of the Avengers. (Hmm... Could a crossover between these two franchises be forthcoming, with Wolverine and Quicksilver, and possibly Storm and Rogue, popping up in "The Avengers 2?" ... Probably not.) His powers? Running really fast, being resistant to friction, etc. With apologies to Marvel fan-boys and -girls, he's basically DC's The Flash only without the cool nickname, history, or nostalgia. And where will he fit in the story? We have no idea. In fact, we'll probably need a flow chart just to keep track of all the timelines once the movie actually comes out.
