Spidey's new suit boasts some changes

Spider-Man's new costume for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has been revealed...and it looks kind of like the old costume.
When we say the "old costume," however, we don't mean the garb that star Andrew Garfield wore in 2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man," but the outfit seen in the three movies made by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire before the franchise was rebooted last year.
Coming Soon unveiled the image, and the first noticeable thing is that the eyes on the mask are bigger -- which is actually more in line with the comics -- and white, unlike the darker, mirrored ones seen in last year's film.
The red in the costume is also brighter, and the webbing has more texture to it. Reaction online from fans seems to generally positive, with many noting the resemblance to the Maguire outfit and also happy about the nods to the comic book Spidey, particularly from the Ultimate Spider-Man line.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is shooting now, once again under the direction of Marc Webb. In addition to Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, the cast includes Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as the Rhino, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne.

Yes it really does matter what the race of the actor is.
If the original writer of the story made a character white, then get a white actor to play them.
This is all about throwing bones to the blacks.
When was the last time you saw a black character played by a white guy?
Never, that's when.
So how about Brad Pitt as Luke Cage, powerman.
Or Ryan Reynolds as the black panther?
They are also remaking "Annie" with a black kid in the title role.
WTF? Annie is alabaster white, with red hair and freckles
Enough already.
When it goes both ways, fine, but for now, enough blacking up the white characters
Lets remake "roots" with an all white cast

...I don't know about Shailene Woodley being Mary Jane Watson, MJ is supposed to be smoking hot. An absolutely train stopping, drop dead gorgeous redhead with the emphasis on red. I really can't think of any actress that really fills the bill, especially that's young enough to play the part. Dye her hair red and Kate Upton comes close but still no cigar.

I'm not so worried about Jamie Foxx playing Electro as I am Paul Giamattia playing Rhino. Rhino's a massive Russian supped up on, well that depends on what story line, but he's powerful enough to go toe to toe with the Hulk. Honestly, I don't see Paul Giamattia going toe to toe with anyone but Danny DiVeto.
Also, Sammy Jackson as Nick Fury. The role was LITERALLY written for him way back in I beleive the 90s when they redid the character. He was modeled after Sammy J. If I had to pick someone to be Rhino it'dve been someone more like Brock Lesnar and less like an older, short guy.

Electro is great,and after seeing Django Unchained I'm excited to see Jamie Foxx in the role,but the Rhino is one of the most ridiculous villains in all of comics,and Paul Giamatti just seems like a bizarre choice.I'm also disappointed that they're using the Ultimate Universe storyline more than the original.It seems that Harry Osborne will be Venom,not Eddie Brock,which means they've ruined Venom...again.
3 villains for 1 movie seems like overload...deja vu.

Don't know if you geeks realize it or not, but if all comic related movies were made only for your non-graduating, graveyard working, minimum wage making butts the studios would only be able to crank out low budget crap. The studios need to attract folks with jobs and lives in order to make $$. And in order to do this they make changes that will attract customers, such as putting popular actors in vital roles. Thus - Jamie Foxx as Electro. I think you should be more worried about how his stupid mask is going to look on the screen than in who is going to play him.

Im excited to see what they do with the new Movie. I thought the first movie reboot was awesome! The actors/actresses, I'm curious to see how they do. I think people should give Shailene woodly (Mary Jane) a chance. You guys have to remember this is a highschool setting, so you have to be a little more realistic on who you choose as an actress, and honostly looking at all the new and up coming actresses, Shailene Woodly seems like the better choice. Who knows this may be her big break. Hearing about the new villians, i'm not going to lie I was a little ify about Electro and The Rhino. Like I said I'll keep it openminded. I am curious if and when they are going to do Gwens Staceys big death scene? Maybe third movie? The green goblin needs to be tied in at least the third movie for her big death. BUT I guess we will have to see.

It kills me how many people get caught up on race. Does it really matter that much what the actor's race is, especially when playing a second hand character who is mostly hidden behind a mask anyway? If the actor is good enough at their job and brings enough to the performance then you should not even notice their race, and it can be and has been done! Jaie Foxx is a very talented actor and I think he can bring alot to the role of Electro. I do agree that Paul Giammati seems an odd choice to play any role, especially that of Rhino. And Shallaine Woodly... ugh, were all the talented young actresses not avaialable? The actress playing Mary-Jane has to be able to hold her own against the unbelievably talented Emma Stone and Shallaine Woodly is NOT up to that task in my opinion. Knowing the fate of these characters makes me wish now that the roles had been reversed and Emma was going to be Mary Jane. Oh well, here's hoping they work it out and it is as good as the first... or better

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a black man in America today, it never ceases to amaze me how ignorant and racists people are, as a comic book collector since the mid 80's there have been a lot of color changes to characters throughout the comics as well as in movies. Othello was written as a black man but was always portrayed as white until when the 90's???? Yes Electro was once white then black then back to white did that make you stop reading? I don't think so. Will Jamie Foxx be a good Electro IDK but F it who cares!! Did anyone complain about white men playing Indian's(Native Americans) or when they played Egyptians???? NO they didn't but just because a Black man is Playing Electro the ish hits the fan???? Come on America, you want to say that it is reverse racism or that the black card is being played but it's that kind of thinking that's keeping racism alive and well and until we stop seeing color and start seeing people RACISM will continue to grow and prosper
