The major studios are getting ready to reveal new commercials for some of their big upcoming movies, but Paramount Pictures has already let the 30-second spot for "World War Z" out of the bag.
The zombie epic starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster ("Quantum of Solace") will shamble into theaters in June after a long, protracted and troubled production that saw the studio delay the movie from last Christmas to this summer. Pitt and Forster reportedly clashed during filming, while several screenwriters were brought on board to rewrite the film's third act in time for seven weeks of reshoots last year.
The movie is based on a novel by Max Brooks that tells, in the style of an oral history, about a worldwide plague of flesh-eating zombies and its geopolitical, social, environmental, medical and spiritual impact on the world.
We don't know how much of that survived for the movie, but one thing that it looks like the film retains is zombies -- lots of them.
Check out the trailer below, watch it again Sunday, and come back to Parallel Universe on Monday morning for a recap of all the big Super Bowl movie spots!
"World War Z" is out in theaters Friday, June 21.
