Check out the new Bumblebee from 'Transformers 4'

Michael Bay inadvertently debuts the next Camaro, maybe

By Corwin Neuse Jul 3, 2013 10:08PM
It's hard to imagine how this'll go over with "Transformers" fans, or Chevy fans, for that matter. Or fans of aesthetics, or just cool looking cars. What we're saying is, our beloved Bumblebee is no longer the angular slice of automotive fine art that he used to be. As the above picture from "Transformers" director Michael Bay's website attests, Bumblebee got a nose job, and... And it's going to take some getting used to.

"Transformers 4" looks like it will be a complete departure from the previous entries in the series, with an all-new cast—of human characters—not to mention new models for our favorite Autobots, Optimus Prime included. How is this a sequel, and not a reboot? That, as yet, remains to be seen, but as long as "T4" brings us exploding alien robots in slo-mo 3D, who really cares?

What do you think of the new Bumblebee, Hitlisters? As always, let us know in the comments, or drop us a line on MSN Movies  Facebook and Twitter.

Sorry, this 56 year old woman still appreciates the older style with the "tougher" look. I haven't liked Camaros since the great looking one 1968. With the new styling of the 2010's I was again impressed. You're going the wrong way Chevy.....you also might want to rethink the Corvette along with the Camaro....a retro way of thinking.

Go original instead: MAKE HIM A VW BEETLE! The whole point to his character was how unassuming he looked. This isn't a good version of Transformers in film, it's a bad 90-minute long CHEVY COMMERCIAL!

What was behind you was that seriously outdated rear suspension!  ;P

WRONG!!!! This used to be a tuff, sexy car. The nose has been softened too much. It's no longer tuff or sexy looking.

It stinks.  They should keep the angular look; it's more suited to the character.

ps  Why is it American car Companies have too destroy a Good Looking design ? They all do, is it fear of being one upped? Fords running the mustang, corvette is looking like a new lame Camaro, Chrysler ok so far, but have not seen any new models yet.............

That is ugly.  When will Chevy ever learn? This type of aesthetics is what killed the Camaro the first time!  You are about determined to make me a Ford Mustang fan yet.

Overall the car look pretty good.  I would have went with some brushed chrome wheels, gotten rid of the big black stripe on the top, and modified the big black stripe on the hood to a multi-striped variation.  Then the yellow car would look much more classier and super-cool to ride in.
