Gervais Goes Golden

Though I always watch every freakin' year, I will be front and center, popcorn bowl ready for the Golden Globes this year. Excitement! The great Ricky Gervais is hosting!

Here's the breaking news from The Wrap:

"Ricky Gervais has been tapped to host NBC's broadcast of the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards-- the first time the event has had an emcee since 1995.

"Gervais had been mentioned as a possible Emmy host in recent years following strong positive reaction to his role as a presenter on the TV awards the past two years. But Gervais had indicated in interviews that he didn't feel he could do a good job with the TV honors.

"'I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down,' Gervais said.

"'Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host,' he added."
