First 'Life Of Pi' Trailer Debuts
And it's appropriately epic-y, even if you can't watch it in 3D

We'll be honest, we sort of lost track of Ang Lee's career after "Brokeback Mountain." (Which may be because he hasn't really accomplished anything particularly significant or noteworthy in the meantime.) So it was with some not-inconsiderable surprise that we greeted the news that he had, somehow, somewhere, apparently turned Yann Martel's best-selling 2001 novel "Life of Pi"—about a 17-year-old boy trapped aboard a lifeboat with his nemesis, a Bengal tiger—into a rollicking 3D adventure.
First Martin Scorsese, then Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Baz Luhrmann, and now this? Soon enough, there won't be a respectable Hollywood director who doesn't shoot in 3D. Except for maybe Christopher Nolan.
Anyway, the footage looks appropriately gee-whiz, even without the benefit of an added dimension. The music is grand and swoopy, the production values seems top-notch. What's not to like? Check out the trailer, posted above, and let us know what you think in the comments...
