It's easy to imagine the pitch that helped spark Louis Leterrier's "Now You See Me" - the film has such a deceptively simple plotline, one that is also super-slick and inherently cinematic, that it must have been uncommonly easy to get this film made.
"It's a heist film! With magicians!"
The film, penned by Josh Appelbaum, AndreNemec, Edward Ricourt, Ed Solomon, and Boaz Yakin (we would, of course, hope that such a film didn't require so many scribes, but them'sthe breaks), centers on a group of magicians who call themselves "The Four Horsemen." The magic-makers are made up of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco, and they have a very particularway of doing things. They steal. They don't steal tricks and they don't snag talents, they steal money from banking fat cats (during their shows) and then shower their audience with their spoils (literally, and again, during their shows).
Of course, their brash antics can't continue unabated, and they soon find themselves under the watchful eye of a team of FBI agents (including Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent). But those shrewd government types might be too late - because the Horsemen have something major planned. That's bad news for the agents, but good news for the magicians and (most likely) the audience of "Now You See Me."
