While you might not be familiar with the name Joel Edgerton just yet, rest assured, that's going to change very soon. The Aussie multi-hyphenate (no, seriously, he's an actor/writer/director/producer/stuntman/editor) first caught American eyes with his turn in the criminally under-seen "Warrior," followed by a part in "The Thing" remake and a starring role in "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," and now he's poised to be just about everywhere.Bing: Joel Edgerton | 'Jane Got a Gun'
Deadline reports that Hollywood's next great leading man might sign up for a part in one of the coolest new projects in Hollywood - Lynne Ramsay's "Jane Got a Gun." The "We Need to Talk About Kevin" director's latest project comes from Brian Duffield's Black List screenplay about a woman (Natalie Portman) defending her home from an outlaw gang bent on revenge against her nearly-dead husband. The film has already lined up Michael Fassbender to play Portman's ex-lover who comes to help her in her time of need, and now Edgerton might sign on as John Bishop, the leader of the gang with murderous intentions.
Could this cast possibly get any cooler? Well, there's still that no-good husband to cast. How about Tom Hardy? Or Tom Hardy lookalike Logan Marshall-Green?
