"What do you know about this Rekall place?"

Looking for a hot new way to explain your cinematic remake? Just say it's "inspired anew" by its source material - don't call it a remake! It's a reimagining! But just how "new" will Len Wiseman's take on "Total Recall" be? Starring Colin Farrell, the film is apparently "inspired anew by the famous short story 'We Can Remember It For You Wholesale' by Philip K. Dick." As ever, the film centers on Rekall, "the company that can turn your dreams into real memories."
Farrell's Douglas McQuaid, bored with his stale life, decides that a trip to Rekall for some of their services is just what he needs. McQuaid decides to go for an experience that implant him with the memories of a spy - but a botched procedure has some unexpected results. Just what is real and what is recall?
"Total Recall" opens on August 3. Check out the film's first trailer over at Apple.

Can James Bond's drinking beer be a ploy to boost beer sales, which are shrinking? Sounds logical. The martini has had a good run.

Another remake. Hummm that's an original idea. It's one thing to remake or put a modern twist on a classic, but anymore all there is, is remakes and prequels. No one seems to be able to come up with an original idea anymore.

i don't have a problem with remakes in general, like updating long-forgotten B&W films, but if you can buy the DVD of the original and it stands up well, what's the point? I remember seeing "TR" in the theatres when i was a teen, and it was a total mindf***. Why would i now pay 10 bucks to see movie just 'cause it has updated FX?

I agree totally with you bubblesbambi. As much as they cost to make and as much as we pay to see them, they can at least be original. I agree, SERIOUSLY?????

Sick to death of Movie REMAKES - are there no creative intelligent screenwriters left in Hollywood? Seriously!

So what if it's not Arnold. Colin Ferrel is an excellent actor. It looks like fast paced si fi. Flames 429 should open his imagination and be a spacer.

First of all, the character's name in the FIRST movie was "Douglas QUAID", with no Mc. Although it just might be McQuaid in the remake. Second of all, it ain't no Arnold. Of course, Arnold is getting too OLD to do these movies any more. I wish these writers of the of trailer notes were more intelligent instead of "DUH!" Sometimes they sound as if they just got out of grade school.
