Yes, 'Wreck-It Ralph' Looks Dizzingly Charming in This New Trailer
Is there any way this won't be the crossover hit of the season?
While a number of highly anticipated features have disappointed audiences in various ways this year (sorry, "Prometheus"), there have been some films that have lived up to the hype - especially when it comes to animated features. "ParaNorman" may have been underseen, but the stop-motion film will likely be hailed as an underappreciated classic in the coming years. Even better, the film looked wonderful from the very start, and so do two other upcoming animated features - "Frankenweenie" and "Wreck-It Ralph."Disney is releasing both films - lucky them - and both capitalize on some old school ingenuity to tell what look to be charming tales. "Frankenweenie" will, like "ParaNorman," use stop-motion animation; "Wreck-It Ralph" is also animated, but with an eye to the 8-bit video game style that informs its story. After all, the film does take place inside 8-bit video games (yup, plural!).

The story of "Wreck-It Ralph" is pretty simple - the eponymous Ralph, sick of always being the bad guy, busts out of his game (he's not even the title character in it - it's called "Fix-It Felix, Jr.," how sad). But there are - shocking! - unexpected consequences to Ralph's choice and his quest to be hero could ruin everything in the entire arcade. It all looks so charming. The film's voice cast includes John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer; and Jane Lynch.
