Arnold and Stallone Re-Team In 'The Tomb'

Escape thriller would have been the hottest film of 1994

By Corwin Neuse Aug 14, 2012 9:26AM
2012. The End of the World. As the above image attests, it must be getting near that time, as nearly 30 years after their undisputed heyday, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have finally teamed up for a movie. (Like, for real. As in, for more than 30 seconds of shared screen-time. So that's not counting Schwarzenegger's glorified cameos in the "Expendables" flicks.)

Yes, Arnie and Stallone will join forces to glower and grumble their way through "The Tomb," a thriller about an architect who must escape a high-tech, maximum security prison of his own design, presumably cracking wise and making a mockery of/painfully torturing the English language in the process. From the looks of things, Schwarzenegger will spend most of the film sitting down, so as to better disguise his smaller co-star's embarrassingly diminutive stature. As for his staggeringly atrocious facial hair, the less said the better...

What do you think, Hitlisters? Does "The Tomb" sound like something that would've gone straight to DVD in 1999? Or would it have been the biggest movie ever in 1994? Should we withhold judgement until we see the trailer? Or even the whole film? Or is it fair to lambast the project for its flimsy premise, its stunt casting, and for Arnie's staggeringly atrocious facial hair...

So apparently unless I am going to a movie to explore some deep soul searching emotional drivel a movie just isn't watchable uhh. Why is it so hard for these pretenses Douch-Bags that I love going to movies to be entertained and forget my troubles for a few Hrs.

I whole-heartedly agree that the author, Corwin Neuse, is a total dumb-A$$.  What's wrong with facial hair?  Is this movie a beauty contest or just entertainment?  I also agree with TeddyTerrorBear, movies are for fun and escape.  I don't have to psycho-analyze it and feel that I've grown as a person to enjoy it.  I want to have fun.  When movies stop being entertainment, then I won't be going to any movies.  And I have no problem with that....

Corwin Neuse, your an A$$hole. Your personal comments have no place in this half hearted attempt of a movie review, or whatever you call this garbage spewing article. You made two identical comments about Arnold's "atrocious facial hair" in just 6 sentences, and we got the message the first time. Then you turned your bitterness on Sly's "embarrassingly diminutive stature" and make fun of both of them about how they will "torture" the English Language in the process. It's obvious what you think of this film and both Actors.

I personally think Arnie's facial hair looks studly and i would kill for a body like either one of these two. You on the other hand, most likely have a small Penis, bald head and a Budda Belly, not to mention a $hitty attitude. Oh, OOPS, i mentioned your $hitty attitude.  And finally, 30 seconds with either of these two and it would be you that would be torturing whatever language you speak for the rest of your life.

I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY ELSE THINKS BUT  " I THINK", THAT ARNOLD LOOKS GREAT WITH HIS FACIAL HAIR. YOU GO ARNOLD AND SYLVESTER? LOOKING GOOD AS ALWAYS TOO.  I BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE A GREAT MOVIE. BUT TIME WILL TELL WHEN WE SEE IT.

Doesn't matter if it's the greatest movie ever or a pile of crap.....those two names in the same film equals automatic draw.

I have watched Arnold since Mr. Olympia days, I enjoy all his movies (even last action hero) the humor mixed with the action. Glad to see him back, drop some of that lard (it sucks dealing with losers and brain dead people instead of working out and enjoying life!

The expendables was good, not enough action from each character and too short. Hope this will be remedied in #2. As for the critics review of something that does not even have a trailer I treat it like the wind blowing, they would be better off watching butt crack mountain instead of an action movie.

Holy hell this article was annoying. This movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. Ending the article with a parade of **** questions and a bad joke is the only off-putting thing I see here.

Not a big fan of actors who specialize in one-liners and smart alec comebacks. The occasional funny line, sure. One-liners being the majority of the movies dialogue, no thanks. I like action movies as much as the next guy, but I hate cheezy.
