'Breaking Dawn, Part 2' Trailer Brings The Action

Two minute clip contains more face-punching than the entire series, up to this point

If there's one thing seemingly everyone can agree on, it's that the "Twilight" saga has, so far, put far too much an emphasis on treacly romance, and not nearly enough on vampires punching each other in the face. The newly released "final" trailer for "Breaking Dawn Part 2" looks to change all that, however, with nary a glimpse of teenage angst and a healthy amount of face-pounding action.

What's the plot? Apparently, Bella and Edward's kid grows up to be some sort of abomination that terrifies even the Volturi, the completely mega-evil vampire clan that lives somewhere in picturesque Tuscany and ostensibly controls all of vampire-dom. The Cullens and the Volturi thus inevitably square off, but not before forming "West Side Story"-like gangs, so as to better punch the other in the face. Naturally, Jacob and his werewolf pals get sucked into the action, despite the fact that they really don't have much at stake in the fight, and it would make more sense for them just to sit this one out, and maybe take a vacation somewhere, like Maui. Do any vampires live in Hawaii? It's pretty sunny down there...

What do you think, Hitlisters? Glad that this, our long national nightmare, is finally coming to an end? (By which we mean "the interminable wait for this, the final movie in the pentalogy," of course.) Thankful that the emphasis has finally shifted from the will-they-won't-they romance to some good old-fashioned, passionate face-punching? Corwin dear,

I know this is hard to stomach, but these films weren't made for a male demographic. They were made for a female one and proved that a female audience can wrack up billions of dollars at the worldwide box office. You may be ready to see this "long national nightmare" end, just as I am ready to see the super hero/comic book/male fantasy genres, not disappear, but to release it's strangle hold on the box office, devouring the majority of the screens and squeezing out adult dramas. Guys rule the box office with Transformers and Avatars, etc. Why can't the girls have this one? And before you make comment on something, you might want to know what it is you're talking about. Jacob and the wolfpack absolutely have a stake in the outcome here as he has imprinted on Edward and Bella's daughter. If she is destroyed, so is Jacob emotionally and by extension, the wolfpack. If one of them goes down, so goes the pack. They would not survive emotionally.

At the risk of sounding like a complete nerd for knowing this, "Jacob and his werewolf pals" actually have quite a bit at stake. Jacob has imprinted on Bella and Edward's child and can't sit out the confrontation as her death would ruin both him and the wolf pack. And when they show themselves in the fight with the Volturi they are at risk of having their entire species anhihilated as punishment if they are on the losing side, 'cause thats just how the Volturi roll.

And Clay Tanner are you doing something to be proud of? If you you are over 14 and under 65 why aren't you working a job not bashing others? I worked my half century and  I enjoy some fantasy as it relaxes some of the stress of working and real life.

Counting the days!   I've been totally mesmerized by Twilight, since I finally checked it out in 2010.  I thought the connection and chemistry  between Bella and Edward was amazing.  By the way, there are guys who love it as well....I've stood in line with them on opening night!

Yes there are guys too! I am a 63 yr old white male who only a year ago started to watch the first movie. Since then I have bought the entire series on DVD as well as on my kindle fire I have been totally taken with it. It is so wonderfully different than all the previous vampire/werewolves movies and books (which I always hated), that I can only hope they find a way to extend it. Of course that would have involve new characters away from this crew due to their ageing process, but it could be done, and I for one would be on board.
