Check Out Jason Bateman And Meslissa McCarthy In The First Trailer For 'Identity Thief'
Comedy is the latest from 'Horrible Bosses' helmer Seth Gordon

It seems only yesterday that we were first hearing about "Identity Thief" entering production. The film will star the perennially put-upon Jason Bateman as a mild-mannered midwestern man who has his identity stolen by... "Bridesmaids" standout Melissa McCarthy. Cue comedic hijinks. As far as we knew, the film was to come out next May, although—apparently—it has now been bumped up to a February 8th, 2013 release.
And today brings us another unexpected delight: the above trailer, courtesy of Yahoo! While still raw, the admittedly brief clip gives us an accurate impression of Bateman's predicament, while portraying McCarthy as appropriately zany and unhinged. Bateman is always at his best when he can play the deadpan straight man—see his standout work in Fox's late, lamented "Arrested Development"—and judging from this trailer, he'll be on top form throughout.
What do you think, Hitlisters? Excited for "Identity Thief?" Will McCarthy and Bateman make for a dynamic comedic duo? Should Hollywood make more comedies, especially those based upon original ideas? Have we missed any other obvious, possibly rhetorical questions? As always, tell us in the comments or let us know on MSN Movies Facebook and MSN Movies Twitter.
