Lady Gaga Joins 'Machete Kills'
Grindhouse sequel still has no reason for existing

Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse" spin-off "Machete" made all of $26 million at the box office back in those halcyon, pre-everything, blissfully uncomplicated days of 2010. Considering the flick only had a production budget of $10 million, however, even said meager gross qualified it as a minor success. Ergo, as per that pernicious, unwritten but widely accepted Hollywood rule that every mildly profitable film needs—nay, absolutely demands—an utterly useless sequel, Rodriguez has since moved forward with one, "Machete Kills."Rodriguez has sought to differentiate this subsequent effort by scouring the fringes of Hollywood, recruiting the likes of Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson for prominent roles. Now comes word that he has secured the acting talents of none other than Lady Gaga for the role of "La Chameleón," an enigmatic, purposefully-undefined role that apparently will involve the erstwhile pop star wrapping herself in wolfskin and shooting people. Seems somehow appropriate.
What do you think, Hitlisters? Perturbed that this "Machete" sequel exists at all? Excited for Ms. Gaga's onscreen debut? Somehow hopeful that the film will involve her shooting villain Gibson straight in the, er, nether regions? As always, let us know in the comments.

Do not agree with you at all article author. Machete was brilliant. I laughed I cried I had a cause I was offended I was championing characters - I was mentally all over the map. No other American movie has slapped me around like this one. Brilliant. I was even upset that DeNiro didn't play a very believable Texan and it turned out the character wasn't really from Texas. absurdly brilliant! Looking forward to that sequel. This was the American equiv to Trainspotting.

I have always enjoyed Robert Rodriquez's films. How could he possibly even think of casting the already far too exposed "Lad Gag Ya" by subjecting his loyal fan base, and alienating the majority of them by doing this? The major attendees to this film will NOT be his loyal fans who have always admired and stood by his work since "El Mariachi", but instead this disgusting and vile creature's "Little Monsters"! I can see a director wanting to broaden and expand his audience, but not in the very worst way possible. Most people are totally sick of, and cannot stand seeing anymore of this skanky, boring and phony in every way possible freak!!! And now Rodriquez is even going to do this too? I hope it completely flops on him, and feel very betrayed by him... What in the Hell was he thinking? I just answered my own question... Hell!!!
