Suffering from post-Potter Depression?

Haha, I cracked up about the Twilight bit. Though I'm afraid you used the spell "Alohomora" incorrectly. That opens locks. I think you were thinking of "Accio". *realizes the nerdiness of the aforementioned comment and moves on*

 

Anyways, I've tried the Hunger Games, and the first one was really good; though they went sort of downhill from there. And Dark Knight is awesome, but it probably won't be anything without Heath Ledger. Twilight does not deserve to be considered, hot shirtless guys or not.

 

The truth is, my fellow Harry Potter fans (and I am talking moreso to the book-readers rather than the movie-watchers), is that the end of a glorious era is over. And we will we depressed. We may find ourselves feeling lost and aimless, but it will pass. Eventually. Will we ever truly fill the void? It's doubtful. For a lot of us, HP was our childhoods. But we should cherish the enjoyment we got out of it and move on with our lives, even if we do continue to keep a copy of each book next to our beds like a Bible.

 

As for those who say JK Rowling should continue, I politely disagree. Delaying the end won't keep it from happening. She finished it (brilliantly, I might add), and the movie is finished (epic, by the way), and we had a great run. It's time to tip our hats to a great era and say goodbye while we have a semblance of dignity.

 

I apologize for the long-winded sermon. I'm over-emotional right now, haha. HP fans, it was nice to know that a book series could bring us all together. Like magic.

The Mortal Instruments and Infernal devices series...s by Cassandra Clare. Magic? Check. Vampires? Check. Werewolves? Check. Other assorted magical creatures? Check. Dark Lordish person? Check (...multiple checks, actually...). All magic is unknown to general population? Check. I could go on, but yeah...

So far there are five books out, four in the first series and one in the prequel series. There will be two more in the regular series, two more in the prequel series, and there will potentially be a third series as well. And the first book of the main series is being made into a movie, so there's potential for that as well.

I think rowling should write some prequals now...Hey, it worked for star wars!

Hunger Games is a great trilogy.  There is a book I picked up while on vacation a few weeks ago called, Journey to Felnoria.  It was an amazing book by some local author.  Anyone looking for a book like Chronicles of Narnia should try it out. 

They need to remake Eragon. The movie sucked. The Inheritance Cycle is great and it has 4 books too.

I was looking forward to The Dark Tower series. but I just read that it will not happen.  Perhaps that is for the best.  There are few books that translate well to movies.  Harry Potter being a wonderful exception.

Try the Septimus Heap series. Just whimscial enough to be very entertaining. For the Dies hard Harry Potter fans it does fill some of the void and gives you another set of characters to fall in love with.

The last Movie was GREAT ( better than the book) and yes if feels a bit empty now. For those of you who enjoys a good page-turning adventure to read this summer try  THE TIDES OF AVARICE by John Dahlgren.

I do look forward to Breaking Dawn. Love the Twilight series too.
