'Sleepwalk With Me' Trailer: Mike Birbiglia and a Deeply Amusing Life Crisis
With bonus actual sleepwalking

Just last month, we were gifted with the first poster for Mike Birbiglia's smash Sundance hit, "Sleepwalk With Me." In presenting it, I mentioned my review from the fest, and reiterated just some of my praise for it, including the observation that "Birbiglia has done something very difficult with 'Sleepwalk With Me' - he’s adapted his own work for the screen in a way that is engaging, hilarious, and accessible to people with even the most cursory knowledge of the comedian." Of course, it's hard to tell just how much of that is true (it is true! it really is!) from one single sheet of art, so that's why it's such good news that the film's first trailer has popped up on the web. Not familiar with comedian Birbiglia? "Sleepwalk With Me," which he co-wrote and co-directed from his own book and stand-up routine will be your crash course on all things Birbigs. Based on his own experiences, the film charts the fall of a romantic relationship and the rise of a comedy career, made more complicated by Birbiglia's increased sleepwalking. It is hilarious, and this first trailer quite effectively captures the tone and tenure of this wonderful film.
"Sleepwalk With Me" opens on August 24. Check out the film's first trailer after the break.
