Extended Clip of Upcoming ‘Les Misérables’
The musical starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway opens on Christmas Day

Universal has released an extended first look of Tom Hooper’s “Les Misérables” that features interviews with stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and others on the set. Unlike most movie musicals where the actors sing to pre-recorded tracks, Hooper made the bold decision to shoot the musical numbers live. This enabled the performers to play off of each other in a much more powerful way. In addition to the perfectly cast actors mentioned above, the film also stars Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Helena Bonham Carter. I am a huge fan of the stage musical based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, and I could not be more excited about this upcoming version of Jean Valjean’s story set in 19th-century France. The film will hit theaters on Christmas Day.
