First Look at Angelina Jolie as 'Maleficent'

Production is underway on this live-action take on the tale of 'Sleeping Beauty'

After 2010's "Alice in Wonderland" brought in a billion dollars worldwide, it was inevitable that Disney would revisit their catalog in search of fresh takes on classic material, a tactic currently being validated by the box office success of Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman." (The less said about the comparatively middling performance of "Mirror Mirror" last March, the better.)

This month sees the start of production on Disney's "Maleficent," the directorial debut of Oscar-winning "Alice" production designer and visual effects vet Robert Stromberg. A look back at how the "Sleeping Beauty" sorceress came to be such a cruel villain, the film stars Angelina Jolie in the lead role, and as you can see above, with the help of movie make-up legend Rick Baker, she certainly seems to look the part.

Also starring Elle Fanning (as Princess Aurora), Juno Temple, Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson, and Imelda Staunton, "Maleficent" is due to hit theaters on March 14, 2014.

I love Angelina, her private life is not my concern. She does a lot of good and shes interesting. She seems to care less about what people say about her and thats the way it should be; everybody is a judge these days its pathetic really. Just live your own life and dont worry about others especially anyone in Hollywood they are just entertainers. I will definately watch this movie as will my daugther and my son who are jolie fans as well.

No matter who's in these things.....its down right disappointing that we have reverted to fairy tales due to the lack of any new material to make movies about. I'll be keeping all my money.

I agree with you kkc50kc ,,,,I will not watch any movie she is in..She is not a good actor,,And as for her personal life she is a home wrecker..have NEVER Liked her in any Movie ,,If she is in this one guess won't be watching it either...
