See Anne Hathaway in Full Catwoman Costume!

... And it's more or less what we've already seen before!

By Corwin Neuse Sep 26, 2011 3:25PM
If there's one thing we love more than Christopher Nolan's "Batman" movies, it's grainy paparazzi photos of Christopher Nolan's "Batman" movies. Fortunately for us, our news feed and e-mail inbox has been overflowing with the ubiquitous poor-quality spoilers, which continue to pour in from Pittsburgh and wherever else "The Dark Knight Rises" is filming.

Today brings us a slew of new images, this time (finally!) depicting Anne Hathaway in her full Catwoman regalia. Although these aren't the first pictures we've seen of her in the film—and might be considered slightly underwhelming by those already familiar with her look—they do offer us our (first?) best look yet at her full, completed costume.

The mask! The ears! The heels! The skin-tight leather! The... bright red lipstick? The... dangerously not-tied-back hair? Okay...

Some of these details would seem to clash with Nolan's ostensible commitment to realism. (Like the high-heels.) We're betting that, like the listening devices concealed in Batman's ears in "Batman Begins," the Cat-ears will also serve an as-yet undetermined function. The rest of the costume? Hmm... Not so much.

While we have full faith in Nolan's direction (not to mention Hathaway's acting), we remain unconvinced about her casting. But that's just our (admittedly guarded) opinion. What say you? How does Anne Hathaway look in the role? And how does she compare to earlier cinematic Catwomans Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer? Check out the photos—posted after the break—and decide for yourself.

Hey, is that Commissioner Gordon? It is!
And she'll be riding a Bat-cycle. Or is it a Cat-cycle? Also, we don't want to linger too much on the costume, but this gives an even clearer view of her Cat-ears.
A little dynamism and movement. Is this part of a scene? Are they arguing? Is Catwoman about to kick the Commissioner in the head?
Conferring with Batman. Is it me, or do they actually look kind of... cozy?

For now, we have only questions. (And furious, malformed conjecture.) For answers, we'll have to wait until July 2012, when "The Dark Knight Rises" comes out.

P-u-u-l-l-e-e-e-ease!  I think Hathaway should play the mouse, and let Halle show her what it means to be a real CATWOMAN!  The plot of Halle's movie sucked, but by far, she's the best Catwoman ever.  She darn near oooozzzed 'feline fever' with every footstep.  As far as Hathaway is concerned, you can put a woman in a catsuit, but you can't make her purrrrr-fect!

actually..i bet the heels DO detatch or serve a purpose... Stop looking at her butt for a min and look at her feet. Now notice the heels are a different color and really stand out. They are bright silver, and everything else is black. There has to be something to that.

I have faith in her and Nolan....truth to tell if anyone should be complaining.it should be the fans about Batman's armor..that looks AWFUL!!   NOT very intimidating at all...looks like a jigsaw puzzle threw up on him.

I have never "gotten" Ann Hathaway. She is probably a very nice person, but so unexceptional in the looks department and a yawn yawn actress. I would be shocked if she actually pulls off the whole catwoman thing. She is totally asexual to me. I get nothing. Zip. Nadda. She's Wonder Bread. In the photos in the catwoman costume she looks uncomfortable and rigid, not sexy that's for sure. Totally lacking the va va voom factor.

People fail to realize that the halle Berry Cat woman had NOTHING to do with the batman franchized So she doesnt really count. Michelle Pfeffier's needless to say was the best catwoman.

The costum looks a bit cheesy, but we will see if anne Hathaway (if she can be called that) does a good job.

I think they should start over on this film-- with Eva Mendez as catwoman!  That's what I would like to see.

Personally I like the outfit. She could use a little tan to make it better, but they're not doing anything wrong. I don't know why everyone's bashing the ears, those are ****ing sweet.

I've only ever seen Anne Hathaway in comedies, nothing dramatic. She could play the part of Catwoman's alter ego, the shy, clumsy Selina Kyle perfectly; however, I don't think she has what it takes to bust out the sexy, confident, strong Catwoman we all know and love.

The costume itself isn't realistic, but it does capture classic catwoman (Julie Newmar) I would have preferred her to be dressed like Adam Hughes' catwoman. (She's wearing boots and goggles with a nice cat eared hood/hat) The Halle Berry catwoman is just a fail. It's the most impractical thing ever except for the mask. Plus that movie really sucked a$$. I have faith in Anne. She's really talented and sexy. Though some people think she's too 'girl next door' I don't believe so, yes she started off doing movies like that; but she has grown to become an amazing actress. I can't wait to see this one.

Michelle Pfeffier's (sp?) performence was by far the best Catwoman, sexy but demented, sociopathic, but sympathetic at the same time. Hathaway has a long way to compete with her.

I bet the shoes throw her off. She looks like she walks kind of stiff in them. Should've given her something lower, more sporty to get along in.

Okay first of all, I respect Hathoway as an actress, but she does NOT fit the role, whatsoever. Catwoman is deemed sexy, and Hathoway....I mean she's pretty yes, but not the fit for Catwoman who is very intune with her sexuality.

totally ridiculous....she's not the greatest actress in the first place, but this character calls for much more than she's ever done before and she doesn't have natural grace, or that real sexy pull that catwoman is supposed to have. I just don't like the idea....i mean who knows maybe she'll manage but i think Halle Barry was my favorite...she really pulled off the sexy catlike persona. we shall see.

And the outfit?? it looks totally uncomfortable..i mean, if i was catwoman i'd want something i could move in. That doesn't look like it offers alot of movement. It just looks cheesy.

I'm unsure of Hathaway in this role... I'll have to see how it all turns out, to be honest.
And I don't know how I feel about the suit. The body piece is okay, really. But if they're going to make the suit look more like the Selena Kyle of current comics, they need to make her headpiece the same, goggles included. A shorter hair style would improve the look, too. Esp with Hathaway. Give her a more edgy, Selena-y hair cut and it could do wonders.
I have faith in her acting, wholeheartedly, but this look is too soft. And Kyle is anything but.

By the way, here's hoping Nolan can keep up the reputation he built for himself with The Dark Knight. Batman Begins was BAD, Dark Knight was amazing. I hope he stays on track with this new one.

Oh, and to all you Halle-Catowoman fans, that movie was a piece of crap. Just so you know. The costume was over done, the acting (on everyone's part, sadly) was not up to par, the story was kinda weak and the special effects looked like something out of a low budget video game (much like X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

Ann Hathaway is an excellent actress and she would probably make a good catwoman,  but for my money I would've chosen Milla Jovovich, she can reallt kick some a$$.
