Michael Bay goes for dark humor

The meat of Michael Bay's upcoming "Pain & Gain" is actually something pretty special. Sure, audiences might hear "directed by Michael Bay" and "starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson" and "story about body builders" and think they know what they're getting, but if Bay and screenwriters Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, and Scott Rosenberg really honor the incredible true-life material their film is based on, we're all going to be blown away.Bing: 'Pain & Gain' | Michael Bay
Based on Pete Collins' breathtakingly bizarre "Miami New Times" story of the same name, the film centers on some knuckle-headed body builders in Florida who get mixed up with all kinds of criminal activities and, because they're total knuckleheads, the results are both hilarious and horrific. It's black comedy at its finest.
Paramount has now announced when we can see Bay's film, and has capped that announcement off with one heck of a juicy teaser poster. The film, which also stars Ed Harris, Ken Jeong, Anthony Mackie, Rebel Wilson, and Rob Corddry, will hit theaters on April 26, 2013. Cue excited body-building grunting noise!
Check out a full version of the poster, thanks to Paramount, after the break.
"Pain & Gain" will open on April 26, 2013.Want more Movies? Be sure to like MSN Movies Facebook and follow MSN Movies Twitter.
