Michael Bay's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot delayed until June 6, 2014
Is this a positive sign that the much-maligned film will ultimately be cancelled? Probably not

Great news, everyone! In what can only be interpreted as a sign that the project is on the verge of death—or that the filmmakers simply need more time to figure out how to shoe-horn in more gratuitous Megan Fox cleavage—the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot championed by schlockmeister, childhood-destroyer extraordinaire Michael Bay has reportedly been delayed, er, three whole weeks, until June 6, 2014.The much-maligned project—which has come under fire for both a) existing at all, when nobody seems to want it, and b) Bay's once-rumored intention to make the titular turtles aliens, not mutants—was originally scheduled for release on May 16, 2014. What else could explain the shift, except for perhaps marketing purposes? Well, the fact that the film is still in pre-production makes any discussion of its ostensible release date somewhat moot. Until it starts principal photography, and we see that first publicity still of Ms. Fox standing in front of a green screen with a vacant look on her face, any discussion of the film's release is, thus, laughably hypothetical.
On the other hand, the new "TMNT" is now scheduled to debut just a week before "Jurassic Park 4D: Tyrannosaur's Revenge," or whatever they're going to call that particular monstrosity. Of course, "Jurassic Park 4" has been grist for the rumor mill for the better part of the past decade, and has yet to enter production either, so who knows if that'll ever happen. Could we one day see dinos battling turtles for box-office dominance? Alas, only time will tell. More details as they become available...
