I like Warner Bros.’ ad campaign for Tim Burton’s upcoming “Dark Shadows” starring Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Helena Bonham-Carter. But it’s always fun to see what the talented folks at Mondo come up with for their limited-edition movie posters. This one was designed by artist Matthew Woodson (aka Ghostco) and depicts Depp’s 200-year-old vampire, Barnabas Collins, against a stark lunar backdrop near the family’s decaying mansion in Collinswood, Maine. If you want to get your hands on one of the 270 high quality prints that will be sold to the first bidders some time in the next few days, check Mondo’s site for instructions. (Note: A large number of prints for two variations of Mondo’s artwork for “The Avengers” sold out in record time so be prepared to move as soon as the “Dark Shadows” poster drops!)

“Dark Shadows,” based on the supernatural TV soap opera (1966-1971), will be in theaters on Friday, May 11. Depp reprises the role played by Jonathan Frid on the series. Frid died last month but has a cameo in the film along with several other original cast members including David Selby, Lara Parker, and Kathryn Leigh Scott.

Mondo, based in Austin, Texas, creates limited-edition screen-printed posters of classic and contemporary films. The sale times for new posters are announced the day before in their newsletter or via Twitter.
