Once Likely, 'Taken 3' Now Inevitable
At least according to the film's screenwriter

The dust hasn't even settled on "Taken 2's" nearly $50 million opening weekend, and already talk has turned to its inevitable sequel. According to Hollywood.com, in an exclusive interview with the film's screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen, 20th Century Fox and producer Luc Besson are already keen on fast-tracking "Taken 3," seemingly ignoring the inconvenient fact that Liam Neeson's Bryan Mills' doesn't have any other relatives left to be kidnapped. What do you think, Hitlisters? Should the powers-that-be make a "Taken 3?" What should the plot be? What could it be? A drastic departure, wherein Liam Neeson turns, uh, more unambiguously evil, and starts abducting other people's children? Or maybe gets a job for the secret service, where he has to Or will the franchise just follow the model of "The Hangover" series, and simply keep the premise the same while moving the action to another city? Like Bangkok? Or Amsterdam? As always, let us know in the comments, or tell us on MSN Movies Facebook and MSN Movies Twitter.

Liam Neeson is unquestionably badass and Taken showcased that. Taken 2 gives him another opportunity to remind us of what we already knew. The story in the second one, however, is contrived and more than a little stupid. If they make a third movie (and profits say they will), they are gonna need a serious writer with something truly inventive. Can't go back to the well again without a much better premise. Say, "No," Mr. Neeson.

I would like to comment on a possible taken 3 plot please. I will go the route of Liam Neeson's homeland/country being "TAKEN" over (as he moves back to his homeland) by a character involved in Liam Neeson's past training who happens to be an equally-trained mole experimenting with bionics (enhancements) (mole = double-spy) who is now-turned sinister by a 1st directive in his bionics ala robocop with dictatorship agendas for his homeland/country. What do you think?

I think his daughter would get involved with a nephew of the family her father murdered without know who he is. Until its to late. They have her in custody and hold her for 20million in cash or an exchange for her father, then could make an exchange trapping both of them, then let the mother play his role in saving their lives

I think Liam should be the one TAKEN. He should end up in a shipping container for past wrongs to other countries/people. His daughter should turn into the "Bad ****" to save him only to have the tables turned on her and him left getting fixed up by some Monk or something to go back and save his daughter.

After the first two "Die Hard" movies, the filmmakers abandoned the claustrophobic environments that had been one of the trademarks of the series and turned the sequels into over the top action flicks. It hasn't hurt the success of that series, though some movie fans haven't been happy with the new direction. You mentioned the "Hangover" series, but comments from the cast have said that the 3rd part of that series will likely move the series into a new direction. There's nothing to say that the makers of "Taken 3" couldn't move the story on to where Brian Mills has to take down someone from his past. He was a government agent and there could be someone who just wants revenge on him. Any kind of revenge story would work within the framework of the series.
