He's got a heart of gold

By dazzledbytwilight 14 hours ago

MTV features five actors who may portray badass vampires onscreen, but in real life have hearts of gold. Like strippers.

No vampire list of any kind is complete without a "Twilight" mention, and on this particular list it's Robert Pattinson:

Last fall,“Twilight” vamp Robert Pattinson took part in the Stand Up To Cancer telethon, which raised over $81 million for cancer. "This is about everyone joining together and advancing the cause," he said at the event. "So patients ... can start dreaming big dreams again." Speaking of dreams, are R-Patz and Kristen Stewart on or off? I’m pretty sure you know which of the two relationship outcomes is my dream. Can I holler at a vampire already?

Others on the list are Anna Pacquin, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Brad Pitt.

Movie magic is just so, so awesome.

Check out Lee Pace--better known to Twi-hards as Garrett from the "Breaking Dawn" films--as he takes on the Elven king Thranduil in the trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

He is the father of Legolas (Orlando Bloom). So that's where Legolas got his gorgeous hair!

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" hits theaters December 13.

Mon dieu!

Marie Claire UK reports that Robert Pattinson is the official new face of Dior Homme fragrance. [Cue the swooning Twi-peeps.]

The above photo from Dior Homme is so very, "Tu vois quelque chose que tu aimes?" Answer is a resounding, "Oui."

All those rumors were indeed true, and the House of Dior's official statement confirms it. Here's an excerpt:

"The House of Dior is delighted to announce that actor Robert Pattinson is to be the new face of Dior Homme fragrance. Since his first notable role in 2005 in the fourth Harry Potter sequel, film star Robert Pattinson has more recently come to be known through his role in the runaway box office success, the Twilight saga.

Today we are excited to announce that he will join the privileged circle of Dior faces. Photographed by American artist Nan Goldin and filmed by French director Romain Gavras, this new Dior Homme communication campaign is currently broadcast exclusively in Europe (except UK) and Asia (except China and Japan)."

Why not in the UK?! Gawd, are the French still mad at the Brits, or what?

It's rumored that the campaign ad is "steamy" and features Pattinson surrounded by almost-nekkid women in bed.

@BreakingDawnMovie has these stills, which aren't steamy, but do look promising:

Too bad he's not in the running for "Fifty Shades of Grey."

A political pic and an indie film

By dazzledbytwilight Jun 7, 2013 11:48AM

Deadline Hollywood reports that Kristen Stewart has the lead in two new projects, which will be shooting back-to-back this summer.

"Camp X-Ray," a political drama written and directed by Peter Sattler, will feature Stewart as:

"...a young soldier who escapes her suffocating small town by joining the military, only to find that she isn't going for a tour of duty in Iraq as she hoped. Instead, she's sent to Guantanamo. Met with hatred and abuse from the Muslim men in her charge, she forges an odd friendship with a young man who has been imprisoned at Gitmo for eight years." No word yet on who her co-stars will be.

The Olivier Assayas-directed "Sils Maria" has Stewart joining Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz:

"The film explores middle age and that introspective period where one questions how they've spent their life so far and what they've accomplished. The title refers to the Swiss setting, and Stewart plays the assistant to Binoche's character, an actress who becomes obsessed with a young actress (Moretz) playing the role that made the older actress famous when she was young."

Are either of these something you'd go see? Chime in below.

If there's profit to be had, I'd say that would be affirmative.

By dazzledbytwilight Jun 3, 2013 10:51AM

Variety reports that Lionsgate, which acquired Summit Entertainment in January 2012, will likely extend the "Twilight" franchise. With the huge success of its other mega-franchise, "The Hunger Games," and its stock continuing an upward climb, Lionsgate foresees extensions on several franchises based on best-selling young adult literature.

"We continue to see plenty of momentum at Lionsgate, with a strong slate, improving television business and upside to our earnings forecasts," [James] Marsh added. "We think the key to the shares' performance from here is demonstrating that the company can build off of its success with 'Hunger Games' and create and extend additional franchises."

Marsh noted that two potential franchises ("Ender's Game" and "Divergent") are set for release in the next nine months and added that he's comfortable that management will find a way to extend the 'Twilight' franchise.

Since "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer has no current plans to continue writing more books for this series, it will be interesting to see how Lionsgate will extend the franchise. Would they do a reboot, with all new actors? Or produce films on some of the smaller characters' backstories? How about a television show? Any of these would need a green light from Meyer, and there has been no talk—not even a rumor—regarding such matters.
