Ok I don't usually post this kind of thing, but this particular video is well-edited, has a cool song, is sexy, and made me laugh out loud. For real.

So this is purely gratuitous for you Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullen/Team Edward Twipeeps. (Might I suggest the lobster bib again?)

"I know what you are."
The New York Times reports that in Washington State's Olympic National Park, ranger Jon Preston estimates that at times, "up to 30 percent of park visitors are Twilight-related." 30 percent?! Seriously? Preston is even contemplating "putting together a nature program on bloodsuckers (mosquitoes, flies and lampreys)." Gah.

Now, I know a lot of Twifans out there who go on "Twilight"-inspired vacations. (Need to plan one? Check out my post on Vampire Tourism.) But hiking the Hoh just to feel like Bella Swan seems a little strange, even to me. The rainforest is mesmerizing and beautiful, though, and maybe some of the Bella-wannabees will go all nature-girl and be inspired to do more hiking and camping, just because they like it. This would benefit our underfunded state and national parks.

Thanks to my friend Andy for the heads-up on this report. Check out his piece on "Twilight" hiking here.

Joan Jett and Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart has been spending time with Joan Jett, the rocker she'll be portraying in her next film, "The Runaways," a biopic about the teen all-girl rock band that hit it big in the 1970's. Kristen, 19, plays Jett, now 50, while "New Moon" co-star Dakota Fanning, 15, plays band mate Cherie Currie, who incidentally was 15 when The Runaways formed in 1975.
The Runaways in 1977
Joan Jett looks amazing! I love that at 50 she is still a true rocker chick with her skinny bod and awesome hair and clothes. Kristen has gotten her hair cut and dyed to match Jett's, and has been working on her singing at the studio, with Jett's help.

Kristen seems thrilled and honored to be playing Jett: "I'm just listening to her music all the time. I'm trying to just make myself aware of the time period and what she was going through. It's one of the most immense responsibilities to play a real person. Her story's important. It's an incredibly triumphant feminist story really. She's the first woman to ever start her own record label. So many people know her as just being like one of the coolest people to ever live. That in itself is one of the most intimidating things that I've ever had to confront but she's so cool too."

The UK's Mail Online has the whole article here.

Kristen is rockin' those 1970's high-waisted flared pants, yeah!

Which of the female characters in "Twilight" do you identify with the most? Are you super nice and thoughtful like Angela Weber? Feral and ferocious like Victoria? Motherly and sweet like Esme? Or blunt and bitchy like Rosalie?

Fanpires, you'll just lurve this. It's an awesomely funny video by Rebellious Pixels--an amazing work of editing and encyclopedic knowledge of both "Twilight" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." There's even a wee bit from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" at the end.

Buffy is no Bella--she's not a damsel in distress or a social misfit, and she is definitely not intimidated by immortal bloodsucker types. She also isn't impressed by Edward's stalkeriffic ways; he gets a rather different reaction when she catches him in her bedroom.

Check it out and see what's at stake. (Groan.)

Edward Cullen
Happy 108th Birthday, Edward Cullen!

Born Edward Anthony Masen on June 20, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois,
he was turned into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen in 1918,
saving him from an untimely death by Spanish Influenza.
Now he's married to fellow vegetarian vampire Bella Swan,
and they are the parents of Renesmee, a half-human,
half-vampire, fast-growing child who is destined to be the
mate of Jacob Black, a shape-shifting werewolf of Quileute ancestry.

Seriously.
