Will Kristen Stewart's Snow White Be Corrupt and Evil in the Sequel?

Goin' rogue...

By dazzledbytwilight Jun 18, 2012 12:11PM

According to MTV News, Universal Studios has green-lit a sequel to 'Snow White and The Huntsman,' which surprised many with its $56.3 million opening weekend.  Box Office Mojo has the film's worldwide grosses now over $247 million -- not bad, considering its $170 million production budget and its 48% rating on the Tomatometer.

Director Rupert Sanders will be returning, and his ideas for the sequel possibly include Snow White's corruption:

"I think the corruption of power would be the second one. I think we've created this very chaste girl who's got to this position and now she's in this position of supreme power," he said. "We wanted to be contemporary with the theme here and I think in the next film we'll do the same. There's so many examples of people corrupted by power. When we were talking about it, myself and [producer] Joe Roth, there were so many things happening in the newspapers of these very powerful men abusing that power in hotels and sports locker rooms. People who get powerful sometimes lose their bearings and abuse that power and that's kind of an intoxicating theme."

"I'm not sure whether that's what the second film will be," he said. "But I like that idea at the moment. You['ve] got to play with it a bit."

Kristen Stewart, however, seems somewhat unsure about this:

"Well, I'm not saying anything. Nothing at all," she laughed. "Let's undermine our entire lead character in the very second [film]. It's like, 'No, that's my whole [thing].' It would be so weird to [make her darker]. It would break me, which would probably be interesting to watch."

No word yet on when filming will begin.

I loved this movie and would love to see more of her and the huntsman.  Not happy about the going evil with power theme.  I would love to see her strong side again but not evil.  LOVED her character fighting for herself.  Would not be happy to see her turn.  We see enough on TV in real life lets leave the fairy tales alone!

I like the idea of snow white and the "huntsman" getting together. Based on the original story that everyone knows, I think viewers didn't quite get the "happily ever after" ending that most romanctics hoped for. Snow white going rogue doesn't really sound appealing. What would be interesting in part 2 is going back to her childhood when she was held captive in the dungeon by the evil queen. If she goes to the dark side, then this would explain why she has and more importantly, it'll be amazing to those romantics if the hunstman was the one to pull her out of it.

I definitely don't want to see Snow White become evil....very very off base from who this character really is.  I liked the first movie but was sad that the Huntsman, after all he did for Snow White was faded into the background...Let's keep her good, strong and fighting for her kingdom! Maybe it's her turn to truly save the huntsman!

I think people don't realize that this is Snow White and The Huntsman not Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. It's not supposed to resemble a "fairy tale happily ever after" thing. I loved the uniqueness about this movie. However, I don't want to see Snow White turn evil and I hope they bring the huntsman back... Maybe the second one may lead into the happily ever after vibe?

I think turning her corrupt would ruin the whole Snow White premise.  Just because powerful men are in the news currently being corrupt that you have to make a fairytale women go corrupt.  I would much rather see the Huntsman somehow end up needing help or rescuing from Snow White.  That only she can save him because they are each others true loves.
Snow White can have some faults and make mistakes (as most heros and heriones do, but to make her corrupt and evil shouldn't be one of them) like the Avengers do, but she should always have a kind heart and be a heroine in the end.

I do not want to see Snow White go bad. We see enough of this everyday. Fairy tales are an escape from the everyday. They are fantasy and I would like to see them stay that way. Now is she temporarily got power hungry and the Huntsman helped her realize what she was doing and helped her put it into perspective there would be a good lesson to learn in the movie and then the Fairy tale would have the romantic happy ending that we all have grown up with.

Here's an idea. In the Charles Perrault and Grimm version of the tale, Snow White had a twin sister, Rose Red.  Why not add that to the story.  Everyone is happy.  Snow stays Snow White and you can get the darker charactor traits with the introduction of Rose Red.  Works for me, Kristen playing a two parts in one movie, an evil and a good charactor, that's my thesis, I can stop watching TV.

i want to see the huntsman and snow white get together at the end i think it would be good because in the film they have this special connection they save each others lives and its soooo sweet when she at sleep and he comes and tell her about his dead wife that was very much like snow white herself in mind and heart. but then again too see her go bad-**** in the film it would be good for her to break the purity thing its also good to show the audience what she is capable of if you mess with her and the people she loves.

This film, which contained a distracting knock-off "dark forest" eerily too similar to the one in Princess Bride, lacked adequate power and punch and creativity.  I am skeptical that we'll see the creative brain power assembled to support producing a knock-out sequel.  If produced, I may very likely skip a sequel to this film.  While "Huntsman" was fun, it was a fluffy film which relied much too heavily on CGI instead of deeper story and stronger acting.  And with regard to Snow White becoming corrupted and evil in a sequel -- come on, can't we get more creative than just imitating what is so common in real life?  How about a better and stronger story which is much more than a simple reflection of our every day life?  Movie viewers need to hold filmmakers to higher standards.  It should be all about the story and not the CGI, the famous leading actors, or a flimsy and predictable plot.

Wow - please don't!  I can't stand the thought of a sequel to this disappointing flop of a movie.  It was dreadful.

I loved the movie I'm surprised it got 47% tomatoe rating or whatever its called me and my husband loved it and I'm glad they're coming out with a sequel but I will be disapointed without Charlize Theron who was one my favs in the movie her and the huntsman... sorry Kristen but once again u were basically playing a helpless girl who had to be saved by a man and I would like to see u branch out.

I'm not sure how the sequel will do without Ravenna.  She was the driving force behind the first film and the most interesting character, so I think that somehow she must be resurrected.  I would love to see a love triangle with Theron (the evil queen) as the seductress trying to regain her thrown by tempting Hemsworth (the huntsman) away from Stewart (snow white).
