'Twilight' Named Worst Movie Series of All Time

By the...RiffTrax guys?

By dazzledbytwilight Dec 29, 2012 12:34PM

RiffTrax, a site all about crackin' on movies under the guise of "making them funnier," has named the 'Twilight' series the Worst Movie Series of all time.  Ouch.

Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, formerly of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," are the dudes behind RiffTrax and its voice-over commentaries.

Of 'Twilight,' RiffTrax says:  "There’s a lot to cover in this vast, sprawling film series so let us try to boil it down for you: 'Mumble mumble mumble moon eyes. Mumble mumble mumble mumble lay in a field. Mumble mumble mumble perv on a baby. Mumble.'"

RiffTrax offers commentary videos for all the 'Twilight' films except the latest, 'Breaking Dawn, Part 2.'  Surely they'll be doing one after the Blu-ray/DVD is released.

Here is their 'Twilight' one:

Critics have ruined the movies and careers for many people.  I have seen so many movies that were panned by the critics that I have thoroughly enjoyed.  What makes them experts anyway?  Movies are supposed to be a form of entertainment.  I don't like to have to figure out the meaning of a movie, I just want to sit back and enjoy the fun of it.

A series that would make the Twihards anxious with anxiety until he next film came out.   I don't think that we would agree with you.   Also the numbers at the box office don't agree either.   Not much of a critic are they.

Even with MSN's blatant hatred of Twilight not withstanding, to put this headline on their homepage..."Critics: Twilight worst franchise of all time", is a pretty cheap move on their part. Not to mention misleading, ergo; unprofessional. This dubious honor didn't come from one single film critic. It came from a fan poll (of mostly fanboys) on the relatively obscure Rifftrax and if you read a lot of comments concerning this little poll, even those who don't like Twilight are saying 'enough, not the greatest movies ever made, but certainly not the worst'. The hated for this thing has always been over the top (the irony is that it's detractors have made it more important than it is because they're just as passionate in their hated as others are in their love for it). But you gotta know that when those who don't like it are now coming to it's defense, the bullsh*t has gone 'round the bend.

Unless any of you have actually watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 please shut up. These guys make their living making fun of any and all movies. This can hardly be taken as serious and MSN is notorious for posting misleading and just blatantly wrong headlines to draw more viewers. Go to Rifftrax's site and you'll see they make fun of everything. Them saying the movie series is the worst of all time is more likely a marketing ploy or taken out of context by MSN from one of their Riffs.

Agreed. This series was the most boring and pointless series of movies I've ever experienced as well.  I guess there are too many "oooo he's so cute" women out there that just wanted the eye candy to pay an admission to see this ridiculous collection of so-called actors, and the most pointless story in a long time.  I saw the first one with an open mind, and ended up walking out of it 3/4 of the way through.  Totally pointless, boring, drawn out, and overall, DULL.  I agree with the critics that this is indeed the worst movie series of all time.

Twilight was one of the most pathetic, badly acted, poorly written and meaningless movies I have every watched. There were no brilliant moments in the movies at all. Yet everyone still went to go see them, and they have one of the biggest box office results ever. I don't think people care about the good qualities of a movie when it's being directed at teens. They're not that bright.

I could care less what critics have to say about an movie. But twilight is bad mostly because Bella is such a terrible character. I think I would have enjoyed the books and movies more if Bella wasn't so pathetic.

"Ouch"? This comes as a shock to you? These movies, the books, and Stephenie Meyer herself are notorious laughing stocks to everyone except tween girls and middle-aged divorcees.

PS. Mopey, sparkly vampires ROFL

PPS. God bless Mike, Bill, Kevin and DisembAudio.
