Metallica play surprise 'Kill 'Em All' set at Orion Fest
Classic debut performed for elated fans

I wasn’t fortunate enough to attend this year’s Orion Fest, but reports state that the second annual Metallica-curated event turned out quite well, which is good to see. By far the coolest bit of news to surface from this past weekend’s event, however, was Metallica’s surprise afternoon performance on one of the fest’s side stages. Billed as “Dehaan”, a poke at Metallica: Through the Never actor Dane DeHaan, the boys in Metallica treated elated fans to a complete performance of their classic debut Kill ‘Em All. Of course, it was all quickly captured on video, and you can watch the performance below, which includes bassist Robert Trujillo tackling Cliff Burton’s “(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth” and Lars Ulrich hilariously saying at the end, “Next up: ReLoad.”
