Rage Nucléaire Premiere "Endziel"

Former Cryptopsy members launch new black metal project

The metal world is always a better place when Lord Worm is making music. Unfortunately, it had been seven long years since we last heard from the inimitable vocalist, on Cryptopsy's 2005 album Once Was Not. One of metal's great wits and imaginations, not to mention the owner of the most psychotic growl in extreme metal, he's said in the past he's always been more of a black metal guy at heart more than death metal, and that shows on the debut album by his new project Rage Nucléaire. Featuring fellow ex-Cryptopsy bandmate Steve Thibeault on guitar, Unrelenting F***ing Hatred (out November 6 on Season of Mist) is an intriguing take on the sound, part old school melodic black metal, part industrial, part raw modern black metal, a simultaneously searing and ornate musical backdrop against which Lord Worm delivers his deranged snarl. The six and a half minute "Endziel", which premiered at The Deciblog earlier today, is a good example of what Rage Nucléaire is all about. It might rub purists the wrong way, but rubbing people the wrong way is something Lord Worm has never shied away from.
