Lady Gaga cancels Born This Way Ball tour
Hip injury brings the tour to an unexpected early end

Consider yourself lucky if you were able to check out the North American leg of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way Ball" (we did and it was quite a spectacle) because the tour has come to an unexpected early end.
MSN Music review: Little Monsters roar at Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball tour kickoff
Yesterday Gaga had to postpone a few dates on the tour due to an undisclosed injury. Today it was revealed that Momma Monster suffered a labral tear of her right hip and that the rest of the tour, which was scheduled to conclude March 13, has been canceled.
Here's the official word from Lady Gaga's website:
Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled. After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal. Refunds for the cancelled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb 14, 2013.

I just had this surgery done two years ago. Mine wasn't repaired because of my age and I don't do sports and certainly don't dance like Lady G. My tear was almost all the way around the joint and I was up and putting weight on hip the next day and doing stairs 3 days later. Wishing her a fast and full 100% recovery!
