The Rolling Stones to headline Coachella?
A Coachella date pops up on the band’s iPhone app and then mysteriously disappears
The Rolling Stones are wrapping up their current 50th anniversary tour tomorrow night with a show at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., but that might not be the last time the band plays on U.S. soil. According to Rolling Stone and several other outlets, a date for next year's Coachella mistakenly popped up on the band's iPhone app and was removed this morning.
MSN Music review: The Rolling Stones in Newark, N.J. Night 1
Artists like Paul McCartney and Roger Waters have headlined Coachella in the past, so having an iconic classic rock band like the Stones play the Polo Field in Indio, Calif. isn't out of the question. However, Rolling Stone also points out that festival dates for the Stones are very rare. Guess we will have to wait until the lineup is revealed early next year to find out if this rumor turns out to be true, or if it's a cruel Internet hoax.
