Rascal Flatts have announced plans to embark on a summer tour, to be called the Live & Loud tour. The 34-city run licks off May 31 in Jones Beach, N.Y., and wraps Oct. 4 in Lubbock, Texas.
Support acts on the tour will be The Band Perry (who also opened for the Flatts on their recently-wrapped “Changed” tour) and last year’s winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” 23-year-old Cassadee Pope, who is working on her debut solo album for Republic Nashville.

He will reportedly play two sets each night with his band 3rd Eye Girl

Fresh off his SXSW club show in Austin last week, it looks like Prince will play a series of two-night club shows in multiple cities beginning next month. There’s been no official announcement from Prince’s camp about the tour, but his band, 3rd Eye Girl, announced several dates last night on the Prince Spreecast. The two-night stints will reportedly include an early and late show each day.

Award-winning buzz band doesn't disappoint

Fresh off winning the inaugural Grulke Prize (for Developing Non-U.S. Act) at major music festival SXSW last week, Glaswegian band Chvrches — pronounced as "churches," but spelled so as not to be confused with the actual places of worship — arrived in New York for the first time on Monday night (March 18) for two back-to-back shows at the Mercury Lounge.
Despite being released online last year with virtually no detail, their debut single, "Lies," spread like Web wildfire. Clearly aware that "Lies" likely contributed to the shows' sold-out status, the three-piece band properly played to the crowd by opening with the feel-good glitchy, soaring synth tune. Placed between guitarist Iain Cook and synth-slapper Martin Doherty, singer Lauren Mayberry — who is all small stature and delicate facial features fit for a nymph — projected with the utterly distinctive voice the city had only, until now, heard on the Internet: shrill but sweet; piercing but powerful.

The Kings of the Mic tour begins May 23

Fresh off their Doritos-fueled SXSW performance, Ice Cube, Public Enemy and LL Cool J are combining forces and taking their shows on the road with the Kings of the Mic tour.
The trio of hip-hop heavyweights will be joined by two other influential hip-hop figures in De La Soul and Z-Trip. Well, okay, Z-Trip is more of an influential DJ (have you seen "Scratch"?) but DJs are a vital part hip-hop culture so we don't think it's too much of a stretch to label him an influential hip-hop force.
The 26-date tour begins May 23 in Tuscon, Ariz. and ends July 5 in New Orleans. Apparently there's enough flavor in this grouping of iconic rappers (as in Flavor Flaaaaaav), because unlike their sets last week in Austin, the tour is not sponsored by a snack chip. The tour dates are below as are a few video clips to remind us all of how great these rap pioneers were when they were in their primes.
