Little Big Town, Eric Church scored top dance club hits in 2012

Newer acts also well represented among the top 10 hits

Last summer’s big radio hit was also a hit in the country dance clubs. Little Big Town’s “Pontoon,” topped Marco Club Connection’s 9th annual ranking of country dance club favorites in 2012. Eric Church’s “Springsteen” followed it in the No. 2 spot.

Every December, Marco surveys a panel of nearly 250 club owners, DJs and dance instructors from across the country to compile its annual rankings.

It’s worth noting that country dance club patrons seem open to new music and artists. Three of the top 10 songs on this year’s list are debut singles from new artists (Dustin Lynch, Parmalee and Florida Georgia Line) and a fourth was the second single but first hit from Kip Moore. And while they didn’t make the top 10, singles from three other new acts—Rachele Lynae, The Lacs and Levi Riggs—were well represented in the voting.

Here’s the top 10 dance club hits for 2012:

1. Little Big Town – “Pontoon”

2. Eric Church – “Springsteen”

3. Kip Moore – “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck”

4. Luke Bryan – “Drunk On You”

5. Easton Corbin – “Lovin’ You Is Fun”

6. Dustin Lynch – “Cowboys And Angels”

7. Parmalee – “Musta Had A Good Time”

8. Toby Keith – “Beers Ago”

9. Florida Georgia Line – “Cruise”

10. Carrie Underwood – “Blown Away”

Nashville-based Marco Club Connection specializes in marketing dance club singles to nightclubs and dance venues across the country.
