Tate Stevens moves from 'X Factor' to recording artist with debut album

Singer co-wrote three songs on the project, due in April

Since winning season two of FOX’s “The X Factor” just before Christmas, Tate Stevens has been speeding through the song selection and recording of his debut album. Now his record label, RCA Nashville, has set an April 23 release date for the project.

The self-titled album will include three songs co-written by Stevens. Other writers on the project include fellow artists Joe Diffie, David Lee Murphy and Bradley Gaskin.

“For someone that has dreamt of recording and releasing music for over a decade, to say I’m excited is an understatement,” says Stevens in a press release. “I feel like the songs we selected for the album are a real reflection of my personality. They range from fun-loving to serious and everything in between. I’m so proud of this album and can’t wait for the fans to hear it.”

The album’s first single, “Power Of A Love Song,” was released to country radio earlier this month.

Just in case there's ONE person who didn't hear Carly Rose Sonenclar's audition song "Feeling Good," treat yourself by listening to it.  Then decide if she deserved to win, instead of getting 2nd:

In a year or so you won't even remember Tate Stevens. The country music business is dog-eat-dog. I'm not saying he doesn't have talent BUT----singers like him are a dime a dozen. He's probably a very nice guy BUT there's no wow factor. Save your money Tate, it's gonna be a short ride to mediocrity. Sorry

Tate Love the way you sing.  You sound so much like Garth Brooks.  I hope that you stay real to yourself and family.  Can't hardly wait for the album (CD).  When do you plan on a concert around Atlanta, GA.  I will be there.  Thanks for the goosebumps.

Wonderful to see someone so deserving get ahead.  Usually the shows are based on body comp or sex factor and not talent.  I loved the others on the show too but it's nice to see someone older still realize their dream

Good for him!  I've loved him from the beginning.  So talented yet humble, unlike that joke CeCe Frey.  America got it right!!

He was my favorite, and I am not crazy for country music.  His pepsi commercial stood out on the football half  time, and sounded great.  I will buy his music.
