Darius Rucker is getting in the holiday giving spirit by partnering with Eventful, a digital media company that connects consumers to entertainment and special events, to give fans across the country the opportunity to “demand” their city wins $10,000 worth of toys in time for the holiday season. All toys will benefit the local Toys for Tots program in the winning city and be distributed to children locally.

Fans have until noon (PT) on Dec. 10 to vote for their city via Eventful’s social media platform, “Demand it!” here. Participants can also spread the word virally across Facebook and Twitter and invite their friends to help their city win. For the city with the most “demands,” Rucker will bring a sleigh full of $10,000 worth of donated toys from the Toys for Tots program. Eventful will announce the winning city on Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. (PT).

“When I heard we could partner with Toys for Tots and Eventful to provide $10,000 worth of toys to children for the holidays, I immediately wanted to be involved,” Rucker says in a prepared statement. “I hope this becomes an annual tradition as it’s truly what the holidays are all about—giving.”

Rucker will release his third country album, “True Believers,” on Jan. 22, 2013. Rucker wrote 10 of the album’s 12 tracks.
