Kristin Chenoweth Recording Pop Country Project
Diane Warren Pens Songs For The Album
Broadway, television and film star Kristin Chenoweth is working on a pop country album, and collaborating with songwriting superstar Diane Warren on the project.
Warren tells One Country, “I’ve written some of my best songs ever for it.” She also notes that the country genre is not a stretch for Chenoweth. “She is from Oklahoma, and this is really who she is,” Warren says.
Chenoweth is best known for her Tony-nominated Broadway role in “Wicked,” and for recurring roles on FOX-TV’s “Glee” and NBC’s “The West Wing,” and a starring role in ABC’s “Pushing Daisies.” She’s currently shooting the pilot for a new NBC legal drama, “Legally Mad.” She’s also developing a feature film based on the life of singer Dusty Springfield.
Warren’s hit compositions include Toni Braxton’s "Un-Break My Heart,” Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.” She also penned “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” a hit for Aerosmith and Mark Chesnutt, and “How Do I Live,” a hit for LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood.
Rock producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper) and Nashville heavyweight Keith Stegall are producing the project. Stegall is best know for producing Alan Jackson, the Zac Brown Band, Clay Walker and many other acts.
