Brantley Gilbert and Chris Young will make their acting debuts Wednesday night (Jan. 23) with cameo roles on the ABC drama “Nashville” in an episode titled “You Win Again.” On the show, both stars play themselves in a scene where they attend a party thrown by the fictional Edgehill Republic Records and interact with Connie Britton’s character, Rayna James.

Says Gilbert, “I won’t say I was nervous the first time I was on the scene in ‘Nashville.’ It was actually a lot of fun.

“I’ve hung out with Chris a few times,” adds Gilbert, “but we had plenty of time to talk and get to know each other and even talked about getting together on a song sometime in the near future. So I won’t say [I] was nervous. Me and Chris were joking around. He made it pretty easy.”

Gilbert got some tips from his fiancée, actress/singer Jana Kramer, who has appeared in such series as “One Tree Hill,” “Friday Night Lights,” “90210” and “Entourage.”

“She definitely had some pointers,” says Gilbert, “but the part was playing myself so it wasn’t all that hard.”

Gilbert says he enjoys watching “Nashville” when he’s not on the road because, “It captures some aspects of the business that the outside world may not know, kind of letting ’em in a little bit, and I think it’s a cool deal.”
