Sammy Kershaw Gets In The Christmas Spirit With New Album
Fans Of Country Stars And Christmas Music Have Plenty Of Choices This Year
Sammy Kershaw is joining the parade of country stars releasing holiday albums this fall. On Oct. 22, Kershaw’s 10-track set, “A Sammy Klaus Christmas,” hits stores. It joins new Christmas albums from Blake Shelton (released Oct. 2), Scotty McCreery (Oct. 16), Lady Antebellum (Oct. 22) and the Oak Ridge Boys (Sept. 25), among others.
The album is comprised mostly of standards, and includes two versions of the classic Christmas tale, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Kershaw reads the traditional story on one track and lends his Cajun heritage to a second version.
The Louisiana native enjoyed a string of hits between 1991, when he made his debut, and the end of that decade. He’s best known for his sole No. 1 song, “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” a hit in 1993.
“I wanted to make a fun sing-along Christmas album that people of all generations would be happy to listen to and children would enjoy,” says Kershaw in a press release. “I also wanted the songs to take older people back to the memories and sounds of Christmas when we were kids, and I believe the guys and I were able to pull that off with this collection of great songs.”
Here’s the track listing for “A Sammy Klaus Christmas”:
1. ’Twas The Night Before Christmas
