Taylor Swift (left) is reportedly in talks to portray music legend Joni Mitchell in a pending film adaptation of Sheila Weller book "Girls Like Us," according to Variety. This would be the first major big screen role for the 22-year-old singer.
The film would be a biopic chronicling the careers of Mitchell (right) and fellow female music pioneers Carly Simon and Carole King, according to the magazine. At present, the film has not yet been greenlit, according to Variety, but production is scheduled to start later this year.
Swift most recently starred opposite Zac Efron in the animated film "The Lorax," and had a part (opposite Taylor Lautner) in the large ensemble cast in "Valentine's Day." Before that, she appeared as herself in the 2009 Miley Cyrus vehicle "Hannah Montana: The Movie."
