Josh Thompson Lands New Record Deal With Show Dog-Universal
Singer Previously Released Four Singles, One Album On Sony
Josh Thompson has landed a new recording contact with Show Dog-Universal Music, home to Toby Keith, Trace Adkins and others.
A native of Wisconsin, Thompson previously was signed to Sony Music Nashville, where he released the album “Way Out Here” in 2010 on the Columbia Nashville imprint. That album spawned the singles “Beer On The Table,” “Way Out Here” and “Won’t Be Lonely Long.” After being reassigned to sister label RCA, he released a fourth single, “Comin’ Around,” last fall before parting ways with the label earlier this year. None of his singles cracked the top 10 on the radio charts.
Thompson is currently looking for songs for his Show Dog-Universal debut, expected next year, and is specifically targeting songs that have a “country attitude with an edge,” according to the pitch sheet RowFax. He plans to record this fall.
