Kenny Rogers Opens Up About His Life And Career In New Memoir
Singer To Promote The Book With Six-City Tour
Kenny Rogers will detail the highs and lows and his life and career in his first memoir, to be published Oct. 2. Titled “Luck Or Something Like It,” the book will include Rogers’ recollections of his rough childhood growing up in poverty, his father’s alcoholism and how it affected Rogers’ career, the breakup of his band, The First Edition, and his perseverance in the music business.
Rogers shares stories about fellow stars Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, Dottie West and Lionel Richie, and offers a look behind the scenes at the country music industry, as well as his movie franchise, “The Gambler.” He also writes about the struggles in his marriages, and about finally achieving a work/life balance in his fifth (and current) marriage.
He’ll embark on a six-city book tour on the memoir’s publication date.
