Plus, Taylor Swift lets down her long hair, new Grammy performers announced and more
• Chely Wright is pregnant with identical twins, reports ABC News. Wright and her wife of 17 months, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, announced Wednesday that they will add to their family sometime in June. They made the announcement on Howard Bragman’s YouTube show, "Gwissues."
“They are due in July, but with identical twins you typically have to deliver a month early,” Wright told Bragman. She added, “We’re excited to be parents. We hope we don’t mess it up too badly.”
Wright (pictured) charted 17 country singles on the Billboard chart between 1994 and 2004 and is best known for her only top 10 hit, “Singe White Female,” which reached No. 1 in 1999.
• Taylor Swift is appearing in a new ad campaign for Disney Parks playing the part of Rapunzel. She joins fellow stars including Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson who have all previously been cast in Disney ads. Swift was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz for the campaign. Watch footage from the shoot here.
Swift tells Entertainment Tonight, “When Disney came to me and said we want you to play Rapunzel, I was just so honored. It’s such a wonderful character to get to play, a childhood fantasy come into reality for me.”
• Carrie Underwood has been added as a performer for the 55th annual Grammy Awards, along with current touring partners Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley, who will perform a duet together. They join previously announced performer Taylor Swift on the Feb. 10 show, airing live on CBS from Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Also set to perform are The Black Keys, FUN., Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, the Lumineers, Jack White, and a first time duet between Ed Sheeran and Elton John. LL Cool J returns as host.
Five-time Grammy winner Underwood is nominated this year for best country solo performance for “Blown Away.” Bentley, who has 10 prior nominations, has a nod this year for best country solo performance for “Home.” Grammy winner Lambert has a nomination for best country album for “Four The Record.”
• Two former members of the country trio Stealing Angels will be contestants this season on CBS’s “The Amazing Race,” which premieres Feb. 17. In this interview clip, Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Wayne discuss their plans for winning the competition, and twice refer to the apparently now defunct Stealing Angels as their “former” band. They had been joined in that group by Tayla Lynn, great-granddaughter of Loretta Lynn. Wayne, incidentally, is the granddaughter of actor John Wayne.
