FOX Sports has commissioned Dierks Bentley to record a special version of his hit, “Sideways,” to be the theme song for the network’s 2001 NASCAR coverage.

Bentley will debut the new version of the song live from the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach. Fla., Feb. 20, and it will be used throughout the entire season. FOX is the exclusive television home to the Daytona 500, along with 12 other NASCAR point races.

The original version of “Sideways” was included on Bentley’s 2009 album, “Feel That Fire.”

In related news, Brad Paisley will perform three songs at the Daytona 500 pre-race show. Pre-race coverage begins on FOX Sports at noon (ET), with the race starting at 1 p.m.
