Country stars set to pay tribute to Bruce Springsteen
Chesney, Hill, McGraw among those set to honor The Boss
The charity MusiCares will be honoring Bruce Springsteen at its fundraising event next month, and a number of country stars—as well as performers from other genres—have been recruited to pay tribute to The Boss.
Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Emmylou Harris and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks will be among those performing at the Feb. 8 dinner in Los Angeles, where Springsteen will be feted as the MusiCares “person of the year.” The rocker will be celebrated both for his artistic achievements and his philanthropic work.
Comedian Jon Stewart will host the event, which will also feature Springsteen tribute performances from Alabama Shakes, Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, Elton John, Juanes, John Legend, Mumford & Sons, Patti Smith, Mavis Staples, Sting, Eddie Vedder, Neil Young and several others.
The already sold out event Grammy week event will benefit MusiCares’ emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs for musicians and others in the music industry.
