Briefs: Gretchen Wilson Has Three New Albums In the Pipeline For 2013

• Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Gretchen Wilson is readying three new albums for release this year beginning with “Right On Time,” a collection of 12 new songs due in stores April 2. Next up is “Under The Covers,” featuring Wilson’s versions of 12 classic rock hits from the 1970s. It will be released May 28. Finally, Wilson’s first full-length Christmas album will be available in October.

“I am very excited to have so much new music coming out this year,” Wilson (pictured) says in a press release. “We are already touring, and are looking forward to an incredible year with old friends, and new beginnings.

Wilson self-produced “Right On Time,” which ranges stylistically from traditional country and Southern rock to blues and jazz.

“It is truly great to be able to finally express myself with all kinds of sounds,” she says. “I have always been influenced by so many different genres, it just feels good to be able to experiment with that in the studio.”

• Zac Brown Band will perform the Daytona 500 Budweiser Pre-Race Show leading up to the start of the 55th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 24. The race will air on FOX, MRN Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The band will perform several songs prior to the start of the race. Zac Brown Band member and Southern Ground recording artist Clay Cook will sing the national anthem.

• Actor/musician John Corbett will launch his Leaving Nothin’ Behind Tour Feb. 21. The 21-city run is named for Corbett’s new album, set for release Feb. 5 on his own Funbone Records label. Corbett’s acting credits include “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” “Sex and the City” and “Northern Exposure.”
