Josh Thompson Parts Ways With His Record Label
Singer Exits Sony Nashville Roster After One Album, Four Singles
Singer/songwriter Josh Thompson is now a free agent, having recently split from his label, Sony Music Nashville, after one album (“Way Out Here”) and four singles (2009’s “Beer On The Table,” 2010’s “Way Out Here” and “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” and 2011’s “Comin’ Around”). The latter single was to have been the leadoff track from his second album, titled “Change,” which had been set for release this summer. Thompson’s first album debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
In addition to writing songs for his own albums, the Wisconsin native has had his compositions cut by Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and other artists. He maintains a busy touring schedule, and recently wrapped the 20-city Country Throwdown Tour with headliner Gary Allan.
