Ronnie Dunn’s Record Label Status Unclear
Conflicting Reports Add To Confusion
Ronnie Dunn’s current status on the artist roster at Arista Nashville is unclear. Several media outlets picked up TasteOfCountry.com’s story reporting that Dunn had posted a Facebook note (since deleted) saying he’s parted ways with the label. The label itself issued a “no comment” about Dunn’s status to CMT.com (usually an indication the story is true), but Dunn’s own publicist tells One Country the singer is “very much still on the label.”
As previously reported here, Dunn and the Arista staff had a bit of recent friction over some social media posts by the outspoken singer.
A look at parent company Sony Music Nashville’s current roster listed on the company’s Web site does show Dunn as a current Arista act. Gone from the label, meanwhile, are developing acts Bradley Gaskin (a John Rich protégé) and The Lunabelles (each after one radio single), as well as teen newcomer Jordyn Shellhart.
